Is Mike Gundy still a man?

Maybe. Maybe not.

If his explanation for blowing a 21 point lead in the 4th quarter to Texas on Saturday is any indication, he is not.

“Ultimately, what it came down to, their guys made the plays in the second half and the fourth quarter and our guys didn’t,” Gundy said on Sunday.

Guys? Don’t you mean children? Of mothers?!

“Our players continued to play hard, but when we have a three-touchdown lead, two things have to happen,” Gundy said. “The defense can’t give up big plays and offensively, we have to run the ball when we want to and run the clock, and we couldn’t do that.”

Run the clock? You went conservative in the 2nd half, Mike.

This loss is on you.

They lost because they ran their normal offense. They were running plays with 15 seconds on the play clock, and passing too much. Had they snapped the ball at :01, and run three straight downs every possession, they would’ve won.

Then they tried to go conservative, but still ran plays with 10-15 seconds left on the clock. Part of me admires the fact that he didn’t totally change up with the lead, but it backfired.

Whenever I feel frustrated with Greg Davis, I simply think what would it be like to have one of OSU’s OCs on our staff. Talk about going into a shell…

No he’s not. If you listen to him day in and day out, not just the tirade, you will have respect for him. He is big on things like kids getting their degrees and learning responsibility and discipline. Like Mack, he wants his players to do well like he wants his own kids to do well. He is a good person and is still learning how to be a head coach. It took mack decades to be what he is today.

On the sidelines during the games, he’s an asshole. Sorry. Even assholes can have positive attibutes.
