Mack Brown is well endowed
Mack Brown is getting a chair endowed in his name. The University of Texas is going to endow the Mack Brown Distinguished Chair for Leadership in Global Affairs to be part of the university’s Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law.
Global Affairs? Dude doesn’t even recruit out of state. Why not the Mack Brown Distinguished Chair for Leadership in Border Security?

But seriously, it’s an honor. The athletics department has already kicked in $500,000 toward the $2 million goal.
Joe Paterno will be the keynote speaker at a fundraising event in Austin on May 16. Paterno will speak at 4pm and then an early bird special will be served at 4:30.

If there’s one name that is synonymous with international security and law, it’s Coach Mack Brown.

Some overdue PR work on the school’s part.
JoPa–a serious, serious reader (if you can believe it with those glasses)–has long been an active fundraiser for the library system at PSU. Mac has not been involved with the campus much. Opinions will differ, of course, as to whether that’s part of his job. But when you’ve got a nice situation like his, stopping by the annual bake-sale in front of the PCL would be counted a gesture of good will.
Not kidding about the bake-sale, by the way.

You better believe Fran would have had his ass at a bake sale.

Mack made an appearance last week at the 20th annual MIS Business Fair in the Union. Of course his wife was leading him around and his level of excitement was about as if they were shopping for linens.

You lose a game for every freshman you start!

I wish Mack would chase down referees heading into the tunnel at halftime.
