Malcolm Kelly committed to a team with Chuck Long in charge of it’s offense. If he chose OU based on schemes then he deserves any karmic retribution he gets. When Long was at OU, Texas fans could claim that they had a better OC and actually be right. That was a nice feeling.

In a shocking turn of events, Malcolm Kelly has apologized to OU. I’m sorry.

One of two things happened. Either A) Kelly’s agent is a moron who had to be told that throwing hissy fits doesn’t buy you points with the NFL scouts OR B) he was genuinely sorry and just got upset and disappointed with how things went down.
I’m going with B.

But here’s some stuff that I’m incredibly disappointed that the objective folks here left out of the MK story:
-Kelly showed up about 5 pounds over his playing weight, and 10 pounds over his projected NFL weight. He needed another few weeks to train, and there just wasn’t time.
-The workout was moved to the FieldTurf at the REQUEST OF THE NFL SCOUTS. Why? Because that’s what the nice fellas at the combine ran on, and that’s what they have in the NFL. Here’s your proof: Link

-OU hasn’t held a Pro Day on AstroTurf, where Kelly wanted to run, since 2005. I have no idea why Malcolm Kelly thought he’d be different.

Sailor Ripley hits the nail on the head with one point:
“We would have loved to have had Malcolm with the good guys, running an assortment of daring button hooks and and bubble screens.”

I honestly think MK would’ve gone to Texas if you guys utilized the passing game more effectively.

Division 1 is chockablock with guys who are there to play football. Sure, OU is a complete joke, but we have our share of guys who are in Austin basically to get to the NFL.

We would have loved to have had Malcolm with the good guys, running an assortment of daring button hooks and and bubble screens.
