Texas has had a couple of players transfer to Georgia over the past few years. West Coast teams tradiionally dominate men’s tennis, but Georgia made it a priority in the 1980’s, built a tennis center designed to host the NCAA’s and started to bring in quality foreign players.
We had never beaten UCLA before yesterday, and while we lost to Georgia earlier this year, obviously we are playing our best tennis at the right time.

Baylor is following the Georgia model at least when it comes to bringing in quality foreign players.

Dave Snyder was the coach at Texas when Georgia started the model, and he hated it. But he also saw it coming.

There’s nothing as enjoyable as watching some 28-year-old, pro-tour washout from Germany hit out on his forehand while wearing American collegiate gear.
Kind of makes you teary for your old alma mater.

We lose 4-2.
We won the doubles point and the first singles match, but Georgia ran off the next four matches. And to top it off, Helgeson, the transfer from Texas, clinched it for the Bulldogs.
