Phil Fulmer is the new Lloyd Carr

Well, not really new. They’ve always been the same coach. Recruit well yet still consistently lose to biggest rival. Continually make boneheaded coaching decisions yet somehow win a national championship.

Fulmer went and laid another egg on the West Coast last night. The myth that Fulmer is an elite coach (if it still exists at this point) is based on his 45-5 record from ‘95-’98. He’s 80-35 since then. Not bad, but that’s not good enough in a conference with LSU, Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

Perhaps my favorite thing about the internet (other than the porn) is being able to read in game comments. Hope, anger and resignation. What it means to be a Tennessee fan under Fulmer.

We can sympathize with our good pals at RTT. Great blog, unfortunate fan situation. We’ve been there.

I’m most surprised by the solid defense and shaky QB play Tennessee showed. They never have those.

Phil should have never let David Cutcliffe get away — again.

Phil needs to let dessert get away.

My God, he makes Rick Neuheisel look like a real coach.

“Recruit well yet still consistently lose to one’s biggest rival”. Gee, who does that describe?

Right on, Ransom, Right on. I think Phat Phil has one more division titles not to mention CC than Mack in a tougher conference.

According to Mack, we don’t have as much talent as everybody thinks we do. That’s an interesting statement. What do you think that means? I have my own theories.

“They low down, they dirty, they some snitches”

“Man I hate Nayland Stadium, it looks likes a garbage truck worker’s convention”

and “Its not that Orange you can sit with….Its like the puke inside of a pumpkin orange. And I hate pumpkins”

Is it wrong that I quote these every time I hear the word Tennessee, or see anything Tennessee related? Pure genius. “Best interview I’ve done all year.”

TheBigLead.com thinks this is a Tennessee Vols site. That’s about par for the course for them.
