Rucker changes roles
RBs coach Ken Rucker has moved to the newly created position of the director of high school relations and player development.
Rucker will now be responsible for “One-on-one meetings, conferences, clinics, and correspondence with high school student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. Manage, supervise, meet, and greet prospective student-athletes at the pre-game reception in the players’ lounge and the post game activities in the locker room. Manage and supervise the video department and film log. Manage and supervise approximately four quality control coaches. Dorm duty, curfew, and community service. FCA liaison and campus and Moncrief Neuhaus Athletic complex tours for prospects on unofficial visits.”
Rucker should do very well.
Now Texas is in the market for a new RBs coach. If they don’t get Applewhite, they should make a call to Tulane.

Anytime you see a hyperlink that is labeled “Tulane”, don’t bother clicking, just type out the message, “Goddamn you, HenryJames.”

I like Major and think he has a bright future. That said, I can’t imagine Mack hiring him, nor can I imagine Major wanting to lackey for Greg Davis as a RB coach. Things at ‘Bama would have to be really bad for him to do that, IMO. Then again, I expect working for Saban would be really bad. The bottom line for me is that Major wouldn’t mesh with Mack’s ego, so I just can’t see it.
As for the Tulane link, “Goddamn you, HenryJames.”

Hopefully, he or someone else will be responsible for checking Facebook, MySpace, etc. pages. Congrats to Coach Rucker and I’m sure he’ll do well and continue to contribute to The University.
