And the 1 was a miracle comeback in a game in which our defense fell hard for every shred of misdirection Oregon threw at us.

We lost to Oregon, thanks to poor defense and a series of dropped passes in the endzone. The Holiday Bowl we won was against Washington.

Tell me again what 10 wins in six straight seasons will get me?

MackDaddy will be clappin’ and spittin’ with intensity, going for that all-important 10th win. It’s what defines him.

Nevertheless, I look for us to get our asses kicked. We’re not good on either side of the ball. We don’t want to be there, so we won’t be prepared and we won’t play with heart.

Okay, I agree that we can safely say that our defense is nothing short of horrid; our offense is generally meek and shows no signs of vinegar or salt or any other delicious flavor of chip - BUT Central Florida is a good football team. Not hang-within-a-touchdown-of-Texas good I’ll grant you (or at least they shouldn’t be) but they’re 10-3, confrence champs boasting the 2nd most prolific rusher in a single season in NCAA history. Can we please stop dogging them as some piss-poor baylor-esque victory and give the coaches and players a pass on this one? They beat a worthy opponent. Not the sort of the thing that you’d want to hang your wang on (unless you’re echeese); but neither do I think they should be grouped together with the also-rans in such a hap-hazard manner. There I said it. I feel better.

Y’all are probably gonna have to go back to using A&M as your rival since y’all are having such a hard time with them. Our rival is whoever shows up in the conference championship game. Once y’all get A&M under control you can give us a shout.

saw Dennis Erickson’s comments about the match up — he talked about how great the Texas “program” is and everyone knows it, he even mentioned (with a smirk) that he coached against Texas in the 90 Cotton Bowl.

I am not and have no reason to be optimistic about this Holiday Bowl.
