LSU/OSU Halftime Thoughts
This has similar electricity to the Tulsa/Bowling Green game.
Both QB’s are playing extremely well, particularly Flynn.
LSU is outcoaching Ohio State right now. Pelini’s safety blitz was a game changer and Crowton is mindfucking OSU with misdirection.
Jacob Hester runs freaking hard. He’s Jim Taylor reborn. Look at the helmet snap of the poor bastard that tackles him.
Ohio St definitely isn’t slow. They need to get back to Wells. LSU’s D likes to matador blocks and Ohio St can exploit that if they’ll be a bit more stubborn in the run game.
LSU is playing the smartest I’ve seen them play all year.
LSU’s DEs aren’t speed guys like Florida’s were, but they’re physical as heck. If LSU continues to get good coverage downfield, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Ohio St QB get a kill shot.
And those casons keep rolling along…

Weird game. I don’t understand why OSU can’t slow down LSU’s power run game. They’re supposed to be built for that.
The biggest mismatch is LSU’s DB’s on OSU’s wideouts. Better find the TE and backs out of the backfield in the passing game. Every throw Boeckman makes to a wideout is damn near a 50/50 ball.
Georgia would fuckstomp both these teams.

I’m glad OSU and the Big10 are getting shown up again, but I’m not sure I can live in a world where Les Miles and Ryan Perrilloux have championship rings.

Oh by the way. Good thoughts. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on Muschamp’s hire and the impact he’ll have next year.

If these are the two best teams in the country then it truly was a shitty year for college football. The Florida, Texas, USC, LSU, ou, miami, etc.. national championship teams would beat either of these teams by 2+ TDs. Is there any doubt?

“Georgia would fuckstomp both these teams.”
USC might. Georgia? No fucking way.
January 7, 2008 at 7:30 pm
How did Ohio State get into this game again? Dang. 21st ranked team is the best they’ve faced all year and yet the talking heads trot out their defensive rankings with straight faces. This was way too predictable.
January 7, 2008 at 7:40 pm
I can’t WAIT for the next championship game to feature OSU. Imagine the excitement and hype and Jim Tressel’s motivational speeches.
January 7, 2008 at 7:44 pm
7:00 minutes in the 3rd and OSU is already in hurry up offense.
Here’s where Pelini starts getting nasty with blitzes.
January 7, 2008 at 7:50 pm
Flynn is playing lights out.
January 7, 2008 at 7:51 pm
regression to the mean…
January 7, 2008 at 7:55 pm
that was quick self-pwning
January 7, 2008 at 8:40 pm
I’m expert at that.
Another Ohio St MNC debacle. Is there any way to ban effeminate East Coast sportswriters who graduated from places like Bowdoin and Colby College from voting in the AP Poll?
January 7, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Where is it, again, that OSU never loses at night?
January 7, 2008 at 8:55 pm
tOSU and OU need to play in a BCS game.
Someone has to win.
January 7, 2008 at 8:57 pm
You don’t think Georgia can beat LSU? Have you watched LSU this year?
January 7, 2008 at 9:03 pm
I usually don’t predict the third place team in a conference to beat the conference champion.
January 7, 2008 at 9:12 pm
You just picked a team that lost to Stanford to beat LSU. Why would conference standings stop you?
But you’re right, USC would fuckstomp OSU and LSU.
January 7, 2008 at 9:13 pm
HJ — But you’d predict the #5 and #6 teams would?
January 7, 2008 at 9:14 pm
If anyone tells me they know who the best team in College Football is right now without a playoff, I’ll indulge them their fairy tale.
January 7, 2008 at 9:19 pm
It was Hawaii, now it’s SMU.
January 7, 2008 at 9:30 pm
It should’ve been WVU. Can anyone recall a bigger choke job than their loss at home, as a 28 point favorite, against Pitt? Even a 1 point victory would’ve gotten them the slot against OSU tonight.
January 7, 2008 at 11:02 pm
either one of these teams would stomp a mudhole on my horns. do you really think we could even score on ohio states defense? we dont run misdirection or unbalanced lines or crossing patterns or anything else resembling creativity. we wouldnt be able to slow down LSU’s offense except at halftime. USC is the countrys best team…
January 8, 2008 at 4:15 am
Texas is the best 3 loss team in the country. I simply can’t be argued out of that position.
January 8, 2008 at 8:11 am
Unless we look at the OU game.
January 8, 2008 at 11:08 am
Pelini will be trouble in 2010.
Dude can coach–like Miles, a gambler who wins more than he loses.
He’s already sent his safety after the Longhorn QB.
January 8, 2008 at 11:09 am
“Unless we look at the OU game.”
We dominated OU.
If Charles doesn’t fumble and the defense doesn’t give up 28 points, we would have crushed OU on the score-board the way we crushed them on the field.

Stoops is our bitch!!!
