I think JD Booty was the top rated QB prospect, despite his NR.

USC had the #1 "pro style" QB prospect in Lienart, backed up by the next year's #1 QB prospect in Booty, backed up by the following year's #1 "pro style" prospect in Sanchez, backed up by the following year's #1 QB prospect in Mustain.

As I sifted through the data, I saw a lot of semi-interesting stories. A lot of players required course corrections to get to the NFL. For example, remember Brandon Keith? He was one of the OL run off by the Sooners' psychotic OL and S&C coaches. He transfered to some podunk school and is now at the combine, probably much healthier emotionally than if he had stayed at OU. There's also Lorne Sam, a 4-star FSU recruit who transfered to UTEP and got his career going again.

Of the 42 NR guys, as noted above, 8 were kickers and deep snappers (so nobody really cared enough to scout them), 3 are Mormon OL who are now about 25 years old, and 4 are QBs. One of the NR QBs is John David Booty, who was Not Rated because he skipped his senior year of HS. The HS scouts really aren't missing very many.

No 5-stars this year, eh?

Can't we just roll a bunch of duct tape around 5 one-stars and call it our new starting MLB?
