Amen, Trips. I have no idea why but in the summers in the 80’s some of the best ball played was at Highland Park High school gym. Played in a pick up game with Koncak, Malone and Spud Webb once. The rest of the players, excluding me, consisted of a who’s who of All- Metro caliber high school guys. It was a great run.

Oh, and back to Barton’s post, that could be the biggest key to the ballgame. Rose will have the ball 90% of the time and he’s the best player on the floor. It’s one of the reasons I think Kansas needs to run offense through Rush. CDR’s defense maybe the only chink in their perimeter armor.

I played pick up with Karl Malone a few times in the summer before that draft. He was in Dallas working out for the Mavs who ultimately selected Detlef Schrempf.

He was a really nice guy. Everybody piled into his big pick up and he took us to 7-11 and bought Slurpees.

No shit.

That draft has a ton of smoking craters.

dick, rose is the key. He’s the best player on the floor and makes the game easier for every other Tiger.

CA, Love’s size will be a question. He won’t be able to physically dominate opponents in the NBA. The good news is he looks like he has a skill set for improvement. His ability to shoot the basketball should get better over time.

kuelgapo, I think we discussed these two teams as the best in the country way back in January. Props to us. I’ll be rooting for disciplined play to win out, but while Kansas has beaten great teams, Memphis has dominated them.

AK, word. Memphis wins.

Barton, KU will have to hit like it did against Texas. Problem is, Memphis won’t be zoning, they’ll be contesting everything.

C and C, Taggart is hard. Ink on your windpipe proves it.

Sailor, yep. Most teams would grip but Kansas experience pulled them through and UNC expended a ton of energy.
