The Texas Longhorns (7-5) get a final non-conference tuneup game, taking on the Rice Owls (3-8). Rice played Texas tough last year, but got hit hard by transfers this year. Among the most significant gone are Omar Oraby, now at USC, and Arsalan Kazemi, a current Oregon Duck.

This year's iteration of the Owls are pretty terrible. Senior Tamir Jackson is a star, averaging 18.0 PPG and 6.8 RPG. The rest of the motley crew is rather forgettable.
