I enjoyed putting together last year's compilation, so I figured I'd update it for the spring/summer 2013 AAU circuit. The data is very hunt and peck, so if you have any updates, feel free to ping me. I'll try to keep it updated through the summer.
Player listings include position, year, high school, current star rating, and committed school (if applicable).
HOUSTON HOOPS

2013 Tournaments: Nike EYBL (Los Angeles / Hampton, VA / Dallas / Minneapolis)
Justise Winslow [SF | 2014 | Houston St. John’s | 5*]
Justin Jackson [SF | 2014 | Houston HCYA | 5* | UNC]
Kelly Oubre [SF | 2014 | Fort Bend Bush | 4*]
Khadeem Lattin [C | 2014 | Houston Westbury Christian | 4*]
Leon Gilmore [SF | 2014 | Manvel | 3*]
William West [PG | 2014 | Clear Lake | UR]
De'Andre Davis [PG | 2014 | Round Rock | UR]
Dorian Chatman [SF | 2015 | Port Arthur Memorial | UR]
Christian James [SG | 2015 | Bellaire | UR]
Charles Simmons [PG | 2015 | Houston Westbury Christian | UR]
Jordan Hunter [PG | 2015 | Beaumont Ozen | UR]
Khalea Turner [C | 2016 | River Ridge (LA) John Curtis | UR]
The most well-known and traditionally respected AAU program in the Space City, Houston Hoops boasts two nationally recruited, 5* prospects in Winslow and Jackson. Oubre, a former high school teammate of Longhorn Cam Ridley, is a top 50 player that could make a run at 5* status going into his senior season. The rest of the roster rounds out well and includes "mystery" big man Lattin and rising wing Gilmore, while the U-16 team is stocked with 2015 kids to keep the pipeline going. Also, keep an eye on 2016 big man Turner, who suited up with the U-17 team at the EBYL sessions.
TEXAS PRO (Houston)
Head Coach: Mo Williams/Marland Lowe
Shoe: Nike
Website: texaspro.net
Twitter: @GoTexasPRO
Recent Alumni: Dominic Woodson (Baylor), Isaiah Taylor (Texas), Dylan Jones (Penn), ShawnDre' Jones (Richmond), Kavin Gilder-Tilbury (SFA), Isaiah Austin (Baylor), Danuel House (Houston), Chicken Knowles (Houston), Je'Lon Hornbeak (Oklahoma), Josh Gray (Texas Tech), Joesph Young (Houston)
2013 Tournaments: Nike EYBL (Los Angeles / Hampton, VA / Dallas / Minneapolis), RCS Sports Spring Ice Breaker (Houston)
Emmanuel Mudiay [PG | 2014 | Arlington Grace Prep | 5*]
J.C. Washington [PF | 2014 | Houston Yates | 3*]
Jonathan Wiley [SG | 2014 | Houston St. Pius X | UR]
Damien Day [PG | 2014 | Fort Bend Marshall | UR]
Devon Begley [PG | 2014 | Pearland | UR]
Hassan Thomas [PF | 2015 | Dallas Woodrow Wilson | UR]
Terrance Ferguson [SG | 2016 | Dallas Prime Prep | UR]
Harrison Henderson [SF | 2016 | Dallas Triple A | UR]
Houston-based Texas PRO boasts the top-ranked Texan in Mudiay, who plays for Deion Sanders' "controversial" Prime Prep Academy in the DFW area. Mudiay follows the footsteps of another spectacular Lone Star point guard, Andrew Harrison, as a hotly recruited prospect. The second-best player on Texas PRO might be Mudiay's high school teammate. A 2016 prospect, Ferguson is an early frontrunner for top in-state player honors in the 2016 class.
TEXAS TITANS (Dallas)
Head Coach: Scott Pospichal
Shoe: Nike
Website: texastitansbasketball.org
Twitter: @TxTitansCoach
Recent Alumni: Julius Randle (Kentucky), Matt Jones (Duke), Damian Jones (Vanderbilt), Marquan Botley (FAU), Greg Wesley (North Texas), Preston Troutt (Penn), Zach Peters (Kansas)
2013 Tournaments: Nike EYBL (Los Angeles / Hampton, VA / Dallas / Minneapolis)
Alex Robinson [PG | 2014 | Arlington Timberview | 4*]
D.J. Hogg [SF | 2014| Plano West | 4*]
Avery Johnson, Jr. [PG | 2014 | The Woodlands Cooper | UR]
Mickey Mitchell [SF | 2015 | Plano PCA | 5*]
King McClure [SG | 2015 | Dallas Triple A | 4*]
Samir Sehic [C | 2015 | Houston Cypress Woods | 4*]
Tyler Davis [C | 2015 | Frisco Liberty | 4*]
Soso Jamabo [SG | 2015| Plano West | 4* (football)]
Djery Jean-Baptiste [C | 2015 | Wilbraham & Monson (MA) | UR]
Grant Troutt [SG | 2015 | Dallas Providence Christian | UR]
The Texas Titans undoubtedly figured to take a step back after the departure of uber-prospect Julius Randle (headed to Kentucky). Making matters more difficult: two of its top players, Mitchell and McClure, have sat out the AAU season so far due to injury. Even without the duo, the Titans still display a lot of talent, including two well-known names. Johnson is the son of ex-NBA point guard and head coach Avery Johnson, while Jamabo boasts a Texas offer in football.
[UPDATE] Good article about the Titans and its founder, Kenny Troutt, by Brad Townsend of the DMN.
TEAM TEXAS ELITE (Dallas)
Head Coach: Rob McQuaid/Wes Grandstaff
Shoe: Nike
Website: N/A
Twitter: @NikeTeamTexas
Recent Alumni: Phil Pressey (Missouri), Cameron Clark (Oklahoma), T.J. Taylor (North Texas / Marquette)
2013 Tournaments: Nike EYBL (Los Angeles / Hampton, VA / Dallas / Minneapolis)
Terry Maston [PF | 2014 | DeSoto | 3*]
Nylan Yancy [SG | 2014 | Richardson | UR]
Ike Agusi [PG | 2014 | Dallas W.T. White | UR]
Elijah Thomas [PF | 2015 | Dallas Prime Prep | 5*]
Austin Grandstaff [SG | 2015 | Rockwall | 4*]
Matt McQuaid [SG | 2015 | Duncanville | UR]
Ka-Juan Malveau [PG | 2015 | Everman | UR]
A new addition to the Nike EYBL circuit this summer, Team Texas has made a reemergence on the backs of two top 2015 players, Thomas and Grandstaff. Thomas has a particularly interesting story. He spent his sophomore year as Grandstaff's teammate at Rockwall before moving to Huntington (WV) Prep to play with top 2013 prospect Andrew Wiggins (update: thanks to HelloHeisman for pointing out it was Grandstaff that played for Huntington Prep, not Thomas). Thomas has since migrated back home and is now playing for a powerhouse team in Prime Prep.
TEXAS SELECT (Dallas)
Head Coach: Shawn Williams
Shoe: Under Armour
Website: texasselectbasketball.com
Twitter: @TxselectShawn
Recent Alumni: Luke Kornett (Vanderbilt), Jeremy Senglin (Weber St.), Jordan Mason (Colorado St.), Chris Washburn (UTEP), Joel Bolomboy (Weber St.), Cory Jefferson (Baylor)
2013 Tournaments: Under Armour Invitational (Dallas, TX), Under Armour Jayhawk Invitational (New Century, KS), NY2LA Sports Extravaganza (Minneapolis), Real Deal in the Rock (Little Rock, AR), RCS Sports Spring Ice Breaker (Houston)
Myles Turner [PF | 2014 | Euless Trinity | 4*]
Nick Babb [SF | 2014 | Arlington Martin | 3*]
DaVontae Bailey [PG | 2014 | Duncanville | 3*]
Byron Smith [SF | 2014 | Fort Worth O.D. Wyatt | UR]
Brocke Stepteau [PG | 2014 | Dallas Jesuit | UR]
Marques Bolden [C | 2016 | DeSoto | UR]
My Google searches on Texas Select had been coming up empty, but there was one very big reason to keep searching: a Euless Trinity big man by the name of Turner. He has been arguably the hottest name on the AAU circuit so far. He started spring ball as a relative unknown but may end up as a 5* prospect by the time the summer is done. Like college coaches around the country, my sleuthing paid off. Expect to hear Turner's name a lot come recruiting season.
HOUSTON DEFENDERS
Head Coach: Aaron Harrison, Sr.
Shoe: Under Armour
Website: houstondefendersselect.com
Twitter: @HOUdefenders15
Recent Alumni: Andrew Harrison (Kentucky), Aaron Harrison (Kentucky), Derrick Griffin (Miami), Johnathan Motley (Baylor), Wesley Iwundu (Kansas St.), Clyde Santee (UMass), Shaquille Cleare (Maryland), Christian Sanders (Stanford), Fred Richardson (Oregon)
2013 Tournaments: Under Armour Invitational (Dallas, TX), Under Armour Jayhawk Invitational (New Century, KS), Real Deal in the Rock (Little Rock, AR)
Joe Burton [SF | 2014 | Houston Lutheran North | 4*]
Tony Upchurch [SF | 2014 | Pearland Dawson | 3* (football) | LSU]
Sadiq Inuwa [PF | 2014 | Houston Yates | UR]
E'Torrian Willridge [SF | 2015 | Beaumont Central | UR]
JoJo Anderson [PG | 2015 | Houston Yates | UR]
The Harrison-led Defenders are still in existence, but appear scattered amongst various teams under the Defenders umbrella. Without Andrew and Aaron headlining the squad, they've received little pub. 2015 teammates Willridge and Anderson should get more run heading into next fall, and both are possible National Top 150 caliber players.
DALLAS MUSTANGS
Head Coach: Tony Johnson
Shoe: Adidas
Website: dallasmustangs.org
Twitter: @MustangsNation
Recent Alumni: Marcus Foster (Kansas St.), Leyton Hammonds (Oklahoma St.), Nathan Hawkins (Nebraska), Ben Emelogu (Virginia Tech), Soma Edo (Fresno St.), Zach Coleman (UMass), Shirmane Thomas (Tennessee Tech), A'Shawn Robinson (Alabama - football), Zach LeDay (USF), Demarcus Holland (Texas), Le'Bryan Nash (Oklahoma St.), Jordan Williams (North Texas), Devonta Abron (TCU / Alabama), Keaton Miles (West Virginia), Jherrod Stiggers (Houston)
2013 Tournaments: GASO (Carrollton), Under Armour Jayhawk Invitational (New Century, KS), Adidas Exclusive Run (Dallas, TX)
Corey Henderson [SG | 2014 | Dallas Episcopal | 3*]
Kevin Hervey [SF | 2014 | Arlington Bowie | UR]
Admon Gilder [PG | 2015 | Dallas James Madison | UR]
David Broach [PG | 2015 | Rockwall | UR]
Tyrik Bennett [SF | 2016 | Dallas Parish Episcopal | UR]
The Dallas Mustangs are one of the more historically significant and well-known Texas programs. They certainly do the best job self-promoting via their Twitter page, a plus for recruits. Last year's graduating class didn't have exceptional talent but was incredibly deep and placed a bunch of players Division I programs. I'd expect to see a reload and a similarly stout class in a couple of years.
FRANCHIZE ALL-STARS (Houston)
Head Coach: DeMarcus Peterson/Al Jones, Jr.
Shoe: Adidas
Website: franchizeallstars.com
Twitter: @FRANCHIZE17U / @Franchize16u
Recent Alumni: Tavario Miller (Texas A&M), Wannah Bail (Texas Tech), Michael Carey (Texas Tech), D.J. Griggs (LIU), D’Angelo Harrison (St. John’s)
2013 Tournaments: Adidas Memorial Day Classic (Austin), Slo-Mo Classic (Houston), Gulf Coast Hoop Fest (Biloxi, MS), Adidas Exclusive Run (Dallas, TX)
Damiyne Durham [SG | 2014 | Oakwood | 3*]
Mavin Saunders [SF | 2014 | Houston Kinkaid | 3* (football)]
Justin Hollins [PF | 2014 | Sugar Land Trent Internationale | UR]
Stephaun Limuel [SG | 2014 | Angleton | UR]
David Griffin [SG | 2014 | Lake Charles (LA) La Grange | UR]
A relatively new program in Houston, Franchize All-Stars has gotten its share of area talent. The cream of this year's crop is Durham, a wing player that should shoot up recruiting boards after a good start to the summer.
DERON WILLIAMS METRO ELITE (Dallas)
Head Coach: Horace Pope
Shoe: Nike
Website: deronwilliamselite.com
Twitter: @DwillElite
2013 Tournaments: GASO (Duncanville / Carrollton), Real Deal in the Rock (Little Rock, AR)
D'Angelo Allen [SF | 2014 | Dallas Kimball | 4*]
Omar Sherman [SF | 2014 | Duncanville | 3*]
Erick Neal [PG | 2014 | Dallas Lincoln | 3*]
Derrick Neal [PG | 2014 | Dallas Lincoln | 3* (football) | Texas Tech]
Jeremy Combs [PF | 2014 | Dallas Carter | UR]
Terrance Hubby [SG | 2015 | Arlington Mansfield Summit | UR]
Of the NBA pro-sponsored programs, "D-Will"'s Elite squad appears to have the most upside. Allen is a seasoned veteran by now after playing alongside SMU-bound Keith Frazier at Dallas Kimball. Sherman has gotten some positive reviews this spring, and the Neal twins may have to decide on a future in either football or basketball.
T.J. FORD ELITE (Houston)
Head Coach: T.J. Ford/James Posey
Shoe: ???
Website: N/A
Twitter: @TJFORDBA11
2013 Tournaments: Lone Star Challenge (Houston), GASO (Pearland / Carrollton), Real Deal in the Rock (Little Rock, AR)
Jeff Roberson [SF | 2014 | Houston Kinkaid | 3*]
Traylin Farris [PF | 2014 | Manvel | UR]
Frank Iheanacho [PF | 2014 | Houston Westside | UR]
B.J. Jones [SF | 2014 | Houston Cy-Fair | UR]
Coleman Edwards [PG | 2014 | Sugar Land Clements | UR]
Texas'-own T.J. Ford has poured resources into his AAU program after his NBA retirement. His club won the Real Deal in the Rock and Lone Star Challenge tourneys, a nice start to the grassroots season. I can't seem to find a website or coaching information.
[UPDATE] Good article about Ford's AAU team and recent success by Leigh Klein of 247 Sports.
RASHARD LEWIS (RL9) ELITE (Houston)
Head Coach: Edward White
Shoe: Nike
Website: rl9nation.com
Twitter: @RL9ELITE
2013 Tournaments: Adidas Memorial Day Classic (Austin), GASO (Duncanville), Real Deal in the Rock (Little Rock, AR)
Elton Dyer [SF | 2014 | South Houston | 3* (football)]
Antino Jackson [PG | 2014 | Houston Cypress Springs | UR]
De'Aaron Fox [PG | 2016 | Houston Cypress Lakes | UR]
Josh Hall [SF | 2016 | Bellaire | UR]
Another Texas high school legend! Rashard Lewis' AAU team is mostly potential right now, but has a chance to be very good very soon. The reason? Fox, a 2016 waterbug. He's right alongside Texas PRO's Ferguson as the best freshman in Texas.
D-GIB HOOPS (Houston)
Head Coach: Byron Gibson, Jr.
Shoe: Nike
Website: houstonhoops.com
Twitter: ???
2013 Tournaments: Bigfoot Hoops H-Town Classic (Houston)
Ronald Monroe [SF | 2014 | Fort Bend Bush | 3* (football)]
Donald Monroe [PG | 2014 | Fort Bend Bush | UR]
An offshoot of Houston Hoops, the Daniel Gibson-backed AAU program features the Monroe twins from the Fort Bend area, who are dual-threat athletes in football and basketball.
DALLAS SHOWTYME
Head Coach: Erwin Davis
Shoe: ???
Website: dallasshowtyme.com
Twitter: @Dallas_Showtyme
2013 Tournaments: Under Armour Jayhawk Invitational (New Century, KS), Real Deal in the Rock (Little Rock, AR),
Trent Brinkley [SF | 2014 | Dallas Kimball | 3*]
Keenan Evans [PG | 2014 | Richardson Berkner | UR]
Andrew Dotson [PG | 2015 | Arlington Martin | UR]
Showtyme hadn't been on the radar for the past couple of seasons, but the AAU program run by Keith Frazier's mentor has a few good players.
SAN ANTONIO SPURS
Head Coach: Clay Click
Shoe: ???
Website: ???
Twitter: ???
2013 Tournaments: GASO (Duncanville / San Antonio / Carrollton)
Ben Lammers [C | 2014 | San Antonio Alamo Heights | UR]
David Wacker [PF | 2014 | Converse Judson | UR]
Marcus Harris [PG | 2014 | San Antonio McArthur | UR]
Given the name, finding any information about the the Spurs has been generally impossible. But the program features two bigs getting high major interest. Wacker is the son of Texas Ex Mike Wacker, and he teams with Lammers to give the Spurs a formidable "twin towers" front line.
TEXAS D1 AMBASSADORS (Central Texas)
Head Coach: Tremaine Wingfield/Mike Murphy
Shoe: Nike
Website: d1nation.com
Twitter: @D1Nation
Recent Alumni: Blake Danielak (Drake), Alex Caruso (Texas A&M), Uche Ofoegbu (SMU), Connor Lammert (Texas), Daniel Alexander (Texas A&M)
2013 Tournaments: GASO (Duncanville / San Antonio)
Roderick Taylor [C | 2014 | Killeen Harker Heights | UR]
Cameron Delaney [SG | 2014 | Killeen Harker Heights | UR]
Josh Delaney [PG | 2014 | Killeen Harker Heights | UR]
Chase Carlton [PG | 2014 | Austin Westlake | UR]
Rashard Odomes [SG | 2015 | Copperas Cove | UR]
Another central Texas program, the Lone Star offshoot of D1 Nation has done a pretty good job developing CenTex prospects.
GCBC (Gulf Coast)
Head Coach: Clyde Jackson
Shoe: ???
Website: gulfcoastbluechips.com
Twitter: ???
Recent Alumni: Jimmie Gilbert (Colorado - football)
2013 Tournaments: GASO (Duncanville)
Melvin Swift [PF | 2014 | Houston Yates | 4* | Xavier]
Brandon Etienne [PG | 2014 | Houston North Shore | UR]
Cameron Coleman [PG | 2014 | Spring Klein Oak | UR]
The "Gulf Coast Blue Chips" program seems to be more of a loose affiliation of players and coaches, and appear to pluck players from various AAU teams when needed. I think Swift, an early commit to Xavier, may be here, but he could easily pop up on another team later this summer.
HOUSTON HOOPSTARS
Head Coach: Keith White
Shoe: Adidas
Website: houstonhoopstars.org
Twitter: @HoopstarsNation
Recent Alumni: Cameron Ridley (Texas), Aaron Durley (TCU)
2013 Tournaments: Slo-Mo Classic (Houston), GASO (Duncanville), Adidas Exclusive Run (Dallas, TX), RCS Sports Spring Ice Breaker (Houston)
Markus Polk [SF | 2014 | Houston Cy Lakes | UR]
Mike Flynn [SF | 2014 | League City Clear Springs | UR]
Jovan Yancy [SG | 2014 | Clearbrook Friendswood | UR]
K.J. Boyd [PG | 2014 | Houston Clear Springs | UR]
Longhorn Cam Ridley's program is back on the map.
HOUSTON COWBOYS
Head Coach: Ricky Crawford
Shoe: Nike
Website: houstoncowboysaaubasketball.com
Twitter: @houstoncowboys
2013 Tournaments: GASO (Duncanville / Pearland / Carrollton), RCS Sports Spring Ice Breaker (Houston)
James Taylor [PF | 2014 | Houston Langham Creek | UR]
Jerome Segura [PG | 2014 | Houston Langham Creek | UR]
Its top prospect, Segura, is getting area interest.
LBA SEAWOLVES (Dallas)
Head Coach: Lawrence Johns
Shoe: ???
Website: eteamz.new/lbaseawolves
Twitter: ???
Recent Alumni: Kyle Wilson (Uncommitted), Toddrick Gotcher (Texas Tech), Perry Jones III (Baylor)
2013 Tournaments: GASO (San Antonio)
Elbert Robinson [C | 2014 | Garland Lakeview Centennial | 4*]
I can't find anything on Perry Jones' former program, but prior to AAU season, 2014 big man Robinson was getting a lot of run in recruiting circles.
URBAN DFW ELITE
Head Coach: Jazzy Hartwell
Shoe: Adidas
Website: ???
Twitter: ???
Recent Alumni: Jordan Mickey (LSU), Karviar Shepherd (TCU), Kendal Yancy (Texas), Brandon Parrish (TCU), Antwan Space (Texas A&M / Florida St), Keith Davis (Texas A&M)
2013 Tournaments: Adidas Exclusive Run (Dallas, TX), Real Deal in the Rock (Little Rock, AR)
Micah Seaborn [SG | 2014 | Dallas Prime Prep | UR]
Typically one of the hardest programs to find information on, Urban DFW appears to be a minor player this AAU cycle after graduating its core group of players.
THE DREAM (Dallas - formerly Texas Assault)
Head Coach: Vonzell Thomas
Shoe: Adidas
Website: ???
Twitter: @coachvonzell1
Recent Alumni: Marcus Smart (Oklahoma St), Phil Forte (Oklahoma St), Nick Banyard (New Mexico), Johnathan Gray (Texas - football), D'von Campbell (Rutgers / UTEP)
2013 Tournaments: GASO (Carrollton), Under Armour Jayhawk Invitational (New Century, KS)
Xavier Adams [SG | 2014 | Alvarado | UR | New Mexico]
I think this program used to be called Texas Assault. Could be wrong. Listed since Adams already gave a commitment.
OTHER SCHOOLS TO KNOW
The following schools have had recent top 100 prospects but don’t appear to be relevant in this year’s AAU circuit.
