The Horns (24-22, 6-15 Big 12 play) fell to Kansas State 3-2 in the opener, bounced back for a 6-3 win, and then lost the series finale 9-3 with the help of four errors. The good news is that the Horns are finally coming together in a Golden Shower of camaraderie.
The Austin American Statesman is reporting that elite closer Cory Knebel was suspended for the KSU series, his second suspension of the season, for substituting his clean urine to cover for a drug-addled teammate in a recent drug test. Closers are there to bail you out. What's the problem?
Knebel is a bro helping a bro and my esteem for him has gone up. Next time, here's hoping they'll come up with a better plan than firing a urine-filled Super Soaker over the bathroom stall wall and gathering the clean urine with a rain barrel. Too diffuse and too messy. Rethink. Also, asparagus and creatine for lunch was a bad choice. A simple plastic baggie and a hollow 12 inch is the elegant gentleman's choice.
Like the teamwork though, and I believe we can build on that.
