Lodge is widely regarded as the best WR in the state and is an elite national recruit. He just led Cedar Hill to the 6A state championship over Katy, where he was named the game's MVP. Single coverage, Katy?
A 6-2 outside WR with outstanding body control, football speed, great hands and the ability to win 50/50 footballs, Lodge isn't necessarily going to blow up a SPARQ combine in traditional measurements wearing shorts in July, but when the pads come on in September, he's Superman. His coordination and quickness are absolutely unique for a man his size and his competitiveness is real. Cedar Hill is loaded, but their back to back state titles have a great deal to do with Mr Lodge's talent and passion. The former A&M commitment left the Aggies in September and since then has been thought to be a Baylor or Ole Miss lean.
Now, he'll be visiting Texas in January.
This is pretty exciting news. Texas was dead in the water in his recruitment and now there's a chance. A very small one. Frankly, I think we have an extraordinary amount of ground to make up, but getting him here is the first step.
