The former Georgia commitment is the 20th pick-up for Charlie Strong's 2015 class. Vasser will enroll in time for Spring ball and have two years of eligibility remaining. Vasser was a 2012 recruit coming out of high school, so he should be physically ready to play now - particularly after a full off season with Pat Moorer.
Just got off the phone with @Strong_TexasFB & it's official I've committed to University of Texas #HookEmHorns

Vasser will fight to replace Cedric Reed at the SDE position and should have enough size and strength to man a 3 man DL when Texas goes to its preferred 3-3-5 on passing downs. An academic non-qualifier coming out of high school and after a year of prep school, he'll need to keep his books in order. His maturity should allow him to contribute early at a position where the Longhorn currently lack options. While Vasser may not have much ceiling left to explore, Strong likely grabbed him because of a reliable floor.
