This may be good news for Big 12 skeptics though BYU would be one of the few expansion targets that actually provides more value than half of the current conference. The problem is the other teams that would come with BYU (Houston, UCF, Memphis, Cincy, Colorado State) are dilutive with significantly less value add.
OU President David Boren doesn't seem to understand that adding more dismal demographics and weak schools doesn't improve demographics and conference strength.
On the other hand, could the Big 12 trying to force expansion down Texas' throat have served as the precipitating event to shake the complacency in Austin and force the Longhorns to explore an early exodus?
