Celebration Thread: Texas- 28, West Virginia- 14

NCAA Football: Texas at West Virginia Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

It took a pouring rainstorm for the sun to finally shine on our ass. 28-14, Horns.

Brandon Jones made the defensive play of the game by forcing a 1st quarter goal line fumble from West Virginia QB Will Grier. That play also mangled his finger and knocked Grier out of the game. Then the Longhorn defense gave the Mountaineer offense the finger for the next three quarters, holding them to 295 yards, stoning their run game and forcing two turnovers.

Offensively, Sam Ehlinger was inserted to spark the team after a slow start with Shane Buechele and that he did, leading Texas on 91 and 87 yard TD drives with his arms, feet and a plenty of inspired play. Then he sparked West Virginia with a boneheaded Pick 6 that likely resulted in a 14 point swing. Sam - we love you, but take the sack, young man.

Great team win for the Texas Longhorns. Bowl eligibility is guaranteed and a final home stand against Texas Tech remains.
