Zach Shackleford has surgery to address chronic ankle injury

The Longhorn sophomore starting center was already out for the Spring, but now we’ve learned he had surgery to address his recurrent high ankle sprains that have plagued him since last season; forcing him to miss three games and play hobbled in several others.

His ankle was wired up (adamantium IMO) and now he’ll recover, rehab and should be good to go in the Fall. More importantly, he’ll no longer have to deal with what has been months of trying to play, practice and do offseason conditioning on a badly damaged ankle.

#56 is a tough SOB.

Here’s to a full recovery and his return to the starting line up.
