When Tom Herman wants to make a statement, he does it in all caps.

Nearly a thousand high school football coaches took in the Texas High School Football Coaching Clinic in Austin this weekend which featured the GOAT Bill Belichick as they keynote speaker and all of the Texas position coaches lecturing on the finer points of gridiron. Then there was Longhorn football scrimmaging, networking, hobnobbing and then everyone went to the Yellow Rose.

Basically, this clinic was a giant advertisement for the new regime at the University of Texas.

Apparently, it went off very well. A record-breaking success, in fact. It was a first class operation and fun and learnin’ was had by all - at least according to this Tech sympathizing high school football coach, who offered his props about the weekend on a popular Reddit thread.

The fact that it was held at the same time as the Texas A&M Spring Game is exactly the sort of passive aggressive behavior that I dig from our man in charge.

What’s that? You didn’t even know A&M was having their Spring game? Sorry, wasn’t paying attention - too blinded by Belichick’s five Super Bowl rings.

My favorite Burnt Orange Kool Aid of the event was this quote from Darth Hoody his own self:

"I've known Tom [Herman] for a while and I'm really impressed with the product he and his staff put out," Belichick said. "We've had several of their players. They're all tough, smart and dependable - very well prepared for the National Football League. Those are the type of players Coach Herman has. I think he's going to have a lot of success here and I think we're going to be coming back here for NFL players a lot in the years to come."

Burnt Orange Kool Aid keg stand, anyone?
