Herman held forth after Monday’s practice:
- Roach is back practicing
- Kyle Porter is non-contact, but doing a lot of drill/scout work
- Scout teams have been formed. Every year Herman has been a coach, someone from the scout team has been called up and thrown into the fire
- Chris Brown, Andrew Beck & Elijah Rodriguez will all miss the Maryland opener. Brown has a 4-6 week injury
- They’re starting to introduce Maryland prep and simulate a game week preparation
- Current RB depth chart: Warren-Porter-Johnson-Young
- John Burt has been running with the 1’s. He’s exhibited better consistency and Herman praised his body of work over three weeks of camp
- The 2nd group DL has made strides. Graham/Wilbon/Chisholm/Daniels will all be expected to play. Omenihu is considered a de facto starter alongside Nelson-Ford-Roach (as predicted and explained in TTFB)
- To date DeShon Elliott has graded highest of the safeties, Kris Boyd the cornerbacks
- Gary Johnson was the first player to lose his newcomer helmet stripe. Now joined by Taq’uon Graham, Derek Kerstetter, Cade Brewer, Josh Thompson
- Singled out Dorian Leonard as doing a 180 in attitude since staff arrived. Working hard and leading (the potential depth we have at WR is scary)
