2018 Texas Football Recruiting: DT Keondre Coburn Commits to Texas

NCAA Football: Notre Dame at Texas Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

4* defensive tackle Keondre Coburn out of Westfield High School has chosen to cast his lot with Tom Herman and the Longhorns:

Teh Hudlz:

Coburn is a powerful squatty-body with good stack-and-shed ability and reasonable movement skills. While he’s not the prototype Orlando DL in terms of length or quick-twitchitude, he’s a solid take in what looks to be a down year for big boys in the state of Texas.

In the 2018 Recruiting Preview section of Thinking Texas Football, the great Eric Nahlin opined thusly:

A true nose tackle or 1-tech, Coburn's a bowling ball with good ability off the snap and improving lateral agility. His body type will offer some concern but he's worked hard in recent years to reshape and he's gotten more athletic in the process. Texas tight ends coach Corby Meekins was Westfield's head coach for years and his brother now holds that same position. Both Coburn's timeline and favorite schools have fluctuated though Texas has been the constant.

The momentum for the 2018 class keeps rolling along.
