This is all my fault

December 2009. Our football team is undefeated. Our men's basketball team is also undefeated. Life is good.

I'm sitting at a restaurant with some non-UT buddies, enjoying an adult beverage, and I jokingly ask them, "Hey, what does it feel like to lose? I can't remember! Ha ha!"

Less than a month later, Colt's arm gets smashed by Bama.

Shortly after that, the men's hoops team begins its fiery descent from 17-0 to 24-10 and a first-round NCAA exit.

We all know what has happened since. It's all too painful to recount.

Hand on a stack of Bibles, I swear I was only kidding that night. I wasn't actually that arrogant. But for almost eight full years since, karma has been repeatedly kicking me in the nads. Or maybe one of my buds put a hex on me. Either way, life as a Longhorn has pretty much sucked ever since. And I blame myself. As a UT legend once said, "I want to apologize to all Texas fans."

What can I do? Any suggestions on how to break the curse?

SWEET LORD, HAVEN'T WE SUFFERED ENOUGH!?!??

Be excellent to each other.
