Here we go
— Sam Ehlinger (@sehlinger3) September 9, 2017
The true freshman from Austin Westlake will get his first start against the San Jose State Spartans, only one week after Shane Buechele was injured in the season opener.
Ehlinger is a dual threat QB who plays with flair and relishes contact, but he obviously lacks experience and tempering in college football. He also has his own injury history and a lack of depth at the position should have a substantial impact on play calling.
To assist Ehlinger, the Longhorn offensive staff will certainly need to bring more creativity and expansive thinking to bear than what they showed against Maryland.
Current WR and former QB Jerrod Heard will back him up.
Get behind #11 and wish him well.
