I wrote a 3 part series about out of conference recruiting. Some may be paywalled, some are not.
First, an argument for why the West is Best and Texas should be focusing its efforts in SoCal and a handful of Southwestern cities.
Next, an analysis of Texas peers which examines just how much schools located in talent abundant states still need/choose to recruit out of state. Texas nativists won’t like it. It’s the Nationalization of Recruiting and its a trend that’s going to continue.
Finally, an examination of Texas talent and a caution against parochialism.
In the end, I’m arguing for a 70/30 in-state/out-of-state recruiting mix. What do you think?
