NCAA’s new redshirt rules - play four games without losing a season

This is a pretty big deal.

Aside from allowing players pressed into action by a brief injury run at their position from losing their redshirt season, it will also allow more strategic teams to employ freshmen more liberally in the back part of their season or in garbage time against outmatched opponents, thus grooming them in game conditions for participation the following season.

These rules are not retroactive, but start in 2018.
