Well deserved. That the coaches (OK, well the SIDs) voted for him as the best player in the country certainly counts for something.
Clemens finished the year .351 BA/.444 OB/.726 SLG along with 24 home runs (second in Longhorn history in a single season).
The third round selection will be sorely missed and he’s a testament to hard work and break through improvement - last year Clemens hit .241 with a .356 slugging percentage and 5 home runs.
Hard to argue that he’s not the most improved Longhorn baseball player in history.
