True freshman JT Daniels has been named the starter over Matt Finks and Jacks Sears. He threw four touchdowns in USC’s first team scrimmage and demonstrated poise, excellent accuracy and the ability to run the entire Trojan offense. He was named the starter by Clay Helton:

“We had a very healthy quarterback competition this year with four incredible young men. All are tremendous people, teammates and football players. In the end, JT Daniels has earned the starting position and will be the starter against UNLV,” Helton said. “As you can imagine JT was excited when we let him know, but his uncanny maturity kept him focused on what is next.”

He’ll be the starter against UNLV in their season opener and we’ll see his real mettle when he faces Stanford on the road before traveling to Austin to face Texas.

Time to dial up some looks, Todd.
