The Big Ticket: Texas Introduces Sweeping Changes to Students Sports Ticketing

And it’s long overdue.

Here’s the gist:

Students will pay a one-time flat $175 fee in their tuition for home admission to all UT athletics (Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball and Texas Relays), and can even acquire a guest ticket (for an additional $250), while enrolling in a loyalty program to help determine future priority seating.

More crucially, all student seating is now general admission. First come, first serve. That rewards exactly the kinds of fanatics you want at football and basketball games. And the student ID serves as the ticket code.

The Big Ticket seating at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium is general admission. Students are encouraged to arrive early as seating is filled on a first come, first served basis. All student seating is now in sections 29-39 in the southeast corner of the stadium.The Big Ticket is loaded onto your UT student ID. Just scan at the gates and you’re in to find an open seat. All student seating is general admission and available on a first come, first served basis. For some high demand games, Big Ticket access will be limited, so students are encouraged to always arrive early.Students who purchase a Longhorn Foundation Student Membership will have access to an Express Line (see below).
