Can’t stop. Won’t stop. Over the last six weeks, the Longhorns have added 17 recruits to the 2020 and 2021 classes and skyrocketed up the rankings. With this latest 2020 commitment, the Horns are now up to 15 commitments, ranking them 6th nationally.

Meet 2020 Manor DL Princely Umanmielen. The four star recruit is ranked #37 in the state of Texas and is considered one of the three elite big body DL prospects in-state. A list that includes current Texas commitment Vernon Broughton and Longhorn lean Alfred Collins from Bastrop. If Texas makes a clean sweep there by adding Collins to go with Utah DL Van Fillinger, the Horns will have landed a truly elite DL class.

Princely goes 6-4.5, 255 but he’ll play his college ball north of 290. Gigantic frame (81 inch wingspan). He registered 21 tackles for loss as a junior, earning 1st team all-district honors.

He’s a clear 4i candidate who might even grow into a nose tackle. He generates tremendous power at the point of attack and plays even larger than his listed specs. Princely doesn’t show elite get off and gets a little high at times, but he has tested with nearly a 35 inch vertical and an outstanding 4.37 short shuttle at the Opening camp in July. The twitch is definitely there. A little technique and some S&C will help free it up.

Texas is officially on a late summer recruiting rampage. If you want to double down on your good program feeling, I have just the right reading recommendation for you....
