Texas might have lost a tough one to LSU, but a terrific visit and game environment sealed the deal for Denton Ryan’s Ja’Tavion Sanders. The four star athlete is considered a Top 10 player in the 2021 state recruiting crop and it doesn’t take many reels of film to understand why. Quickness, length, aggression and good speed characterize his game. He’ll fill out to 250+ in short order.
As a sophomore, Sanders had 9.5 sacks and 2 interceptions while grabbing 23 receptions and 5 touchdowns as a part-time flex TE.
Sanders goes about 6-3.5, 220 and has a body like a young Sergio Kindle. He has the athleticism to be a standout TE or B-Backer at Texas. I like him on defense, but he’s capable of playing anywhere.
The addition of Sanders means that promising 2021 group is now up to 8 commitments, good enough for a #2 national ranking.
