The injury bug to the Texas Longhorns roster is now closer to the Coronavirus than the common cold, as Jericho Sims is now done for the foreseeable future with a back injury. Sources indicate this injury is serious enough we shouldn’t expect Sims back this season, though he will be getting a second opinion next week which may change the timetable. Pair that with the increasing number of NBA scouts who are taking notice of Sims this season, and it’s possible we have seen Jericho Sims in burnt orange for the last time.
Texas is now without 3 of the 5 players who were in the starting lineup against Purdue as well as a primary backup in Kai Jones. The path to the NCAA Tournament is now about as wide as piano wire.
