Per the Austin-American Statesman and a positive raft of other sources who'd been waiting with giddy anticipation for this moment, Steve Patterson is out as the Longhorns' AD.
Click here for BWG's terrific recap of how Patterson's beyond-shaky grasp of public perception, nuts-and-bolts PR and the inability to convince anyone that he wasn't a Cylon helped to tee him up for an embarrassingly early departure from what could and should have been a true powerhouse position.
Share your thoughts below, but I'll share my main missive for Patterson's replacement:
FANS GET PAID IN WINS. Job One for you is ensuring that every coach and program on campus have the resources (monetary, manpower, technology, innovation and all the other things that should come from being By-God-Texas) to knock their jobs out of the park. When they are doing so, we will all pull our collective hamstrings in a sprint to hand you our money.
