The first commitment of the 2019 class is dual threat four star QB Roschon Johnson. The electric East Texas athlete had a prolific sophomore season and he has been on the Longhorn radar for quite some time.
His film reveals excellent feet, flexibility and stop-start ability as a runner, but also demonstrates a passing game still in its developmental stages. Johnson doesn’t have a big arm down the field outside of the hashes, but he has a solid ability to make productive throws - post and go routes in the middle of the field are his bread and butter - particularly when the defense is concerned about his feet.
Truth be told, I like a bit more passing polish and arm strength even in my dual threats, but it’s worth bearing in mind that the 6-0, 190 pound junior-to-be has a hell of a lot of football and growth in front of him.
And those feet though.
