Texas announced their Tip-Off event this year on October 17th at Gregory Gym, as per usual. The difference this year is the event showcases both the men’s and women’s team. It’s an interesting twist to the preseason festivities, one which will hopefully generate increased interest in the women’s program as they enter the season likely ranked in the top 25 as well as the men’s team which (could) (maybe) (possibly) be ranked heading into the season.
The format is TBD, but it’s first come, first serve to the free event for the 3,000 people willing to brave Austin traffic. Maybe Kerwin Roach II will dunk over his mom again, maybe Jericho Sims will dunk over Kerwin Roach II dunking over his mom again, and maybe Karen Aston shows the men’s team what it’s like to make threes. There’s something for everybody.
