Texas receiver Jordan Shipley has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. This is big for Texas.
He missed both the 2004 and 2005 seasons because of injuries.

HJ, great analysis per usual. I thought Chykie got simply toasted last night, no other way around it. He and Curtis were miss SOOO many tackles also, too much trying to strip the ball.
Aaron Williams is an absolute god. They did whatever they could to avoid having to throw against him.

I know Coach Boom is in charge of the defense but that two minute drive that Tech put together against what literally looked like umbrella prevent, had the Mack Brown feel to it. I just wonder if Brown went to Muschamp and encouraged us to not give up the big play. That’s the only thing

Saturday the Tulsa Golden Hurricane made landfall about 2:30 p.m. and promptly fizzled into a weak tropical depression when it hit Owen Field.

I think Miami should be at number 3 followed by Texas. The game with VT will be interesting.
I think Ole Miss and TCU will fall from the ranks of the unbeaten this weekend. Could Penn State

Care to comment on the holding in the end zone on Kindle or the wide receiver picks that you have so nimbly dodged?
Somehow, I doubt it.

I rewatched the tape today so I now have a better idea of the defense’s performance last night. It looks like Muschamp’s gameplan was to mostly rush four and keep everything in front of the defensive backs while mixing man and zone coverages.
Overall the defense played well. They forced five fumbles (two of which

2. Alabama – Answers everywhere; whine if you like Longhorns

There appears to be a conspiracy amongst the offensive players that D-Wash be the only RB to score a rushing TD.
I’m pretty sure that if a WR went down, La’Damian Washington would get his redshirt pulled. Practice reports were that he looked very good.

Now this is some huge news for texas and the entire league. They were likely the favorite before and their case just strengthened.
I’m not contending this at all, since it seemed like a foregone conclusion anyway. But does anyone know why? Is there any precedent for getting this extra year? Any idea what kind of burden of proof they had to provide on the severity of his injuries - or could teams start using this commonly?
HenryJames said:

I believe that to be considered for an extra year the season-ending injury has to occur before twenty percent of the season is complete.

Hiphop….same circumstances as Jason White. Hurt two years in a row with season ending injuries in September. There are others. Didn’t Ramon Flanigan get like 14 years at SMU? No, but he did get 6.
dick said:

If you miss an entire season due to injuries, you can pretty much get it, much less two seasons. The burden of proof is not playing and doctor’s evaluations. This was always a slam dunk, Shipley didn’t even want to participate in Senior stuff this past year because it was such a sure thing.
