Tie, Tie My Darling

The Big 12 football coaches are meeting today in Phoenix to discuss conference tiebreaking procedures. Apparently there was some contention last year season over the current rule. Does anyone remember what happened? I really wasn't paying attention.

The coaches are at some three day seminar sponsored by the Fiesta Bowl giving them all an excuse to channel their inner golf prick. Mike Gundy probably thinks he's listening to a time share pitch.

Texas coach Mack Brown is not attending so he sent Cleve Bryant to submit his instructions.

"I can handle things, I'm smart, not like everybody says."

Brown advocates using the SEC's tiebreaker. If three teams are tied, the lowest ranked team is eliminated if the top two teams are ranked within five spots of each other. The head to head winner is then the champion.
