Earlier Scipio presented his pithy and prescient breakdown of the 2012 Longhorn schedule, with OU as the only contestant in the dreaded Nemesis Division. After Bob Stoops announcement at the Sooner Caravan in Tulsa today, OU will be a Nemesis with only one receiver left on OU's roster who caught a pass last season.

Stoops said that junior wide receivers Jaz Reynolds and Trey Franks, and sophomore defensive back Quentin Hayes, have been stripped of their scholarships. Sophomore wide receiver Kameel Jackson was suspended with that trio in May for the dreaded - and universal - team rules violation, and is currently on a summer scholarship but Stoops said he will have to earn a spot on the team in the fall.

Junior Kenny Stills currently is the only player left on OU's roster to catch a pass last season. Stills had 61 catches for 849 yards and 8 touchdowns. As a freshman in 2010 Stills also had 61 catches for 786 yards and five scores.

Reynolds and Franks have had issues before this latest incident. Reynolds was suspended twice in 2010, including once after he made insensitive comments on Twitter after a campus shooting at the University of Texas.

Reynolds had the best season of his career in 2011. He had started six of 10 games and had 41 receptions for 715 yards and five touchdowns.

Franks was suspended for two games last season for multiple violations of team rules and finished with 22 catches for 196 yards.

OU will also rely heavily on incoming freshman sensation Trey Metoyer, who enrolled last spring and was a star at the annual Red-White game. Fresno State transfer Jalen Saunders has applied to the NCAA for a waiver, which would him to play right away instead of sitting out one year.
