The basketball season is winding down; there are 15 games left before NCAA basketball officially takes a dirt nap for the better part of a year. Even though the games are still being played, eliminated teams are starting to make changes on their staff and their roster. Players are graduating, transferring, and leaving for the draft. Coaches are leaving for other jobs, either voluntary or otherwise. With 351 D-I schools at play, the coaching and player carousel accelerates from zero to light speed quickly enough to make Elon Musk get vinegar strokes. Keeping track of all of the changes is a fool’s errand, and I’m not that big of a fool. I’m a reasonably-sized fool, my aim is to track only the changes in the Big 12. Consider this an ongoing and ever-updating list of Big 12 player and coach (assistant or head coaches, I don’t have the time or energy to track the graduate assistants, trainers, etc.) moves this off-season. Where applicable I’ll note if a draft-eligible player declares, if they intend to hire an agent, and provide a link if I have one. This definitely isn’t a way for me to keep all of the moves in one handy place for Smart Texas Basketball 2017, that would be far too forward-thinking and convenient. I’m just a random content machine, churning away in the 5 months before Jason Chilton emerges from his arena football cocoon with a 7,000-word tome on how Tom Herman thinks ‘free safety’ is an anagram for ‘alignment’.
