Don't look now, but the Texas baseball team has started playing great. They swept Texas A&M this weekend, and they've now won 10 of their last 13 games.
In the series against A&M, they finally put it all together. Great pitching, solid defense and timely hitting. Texas only gave up 7 earned runs in the series and didn't commit a single error.
Now there's even talk about Texas hosting a regional despite not getting a number one seed. The athletic department has bid $250,000 for the right to host a regional for the seventh straight year.
Before the season I thought this team would win the College World Series. A month ago I didn't think this team would even make the Big 12 tournament. Now I'm in the middle because although they are playing great, they still don't have much pitching depth.
They begin tournament play tomorrow against Missouri at 9am.
