With four scholarship QBs in August now reduced to two, we should look at adding another freshman to join incoming 2012 prospect Connor Brewer.
Also, should Ash win the Texas QB job outright, the common automatic assumption that Case McCoy will accept a #2 role for the remainder of his career is not one I share. He still has a redshirt season available to him and he'd have to go through a soul-searching process just like any other player.
As a general philosophy, I'm for over recruiting at the QB position. QBs can be useful at other positions on the field (i.e. they're not dead depth like failed OL) and they tend to sort themselves out via transfer anyway. I'm also pretty leery of the kids (read: their parents) who demand single QB recruiting classes.
Good luck to Garrett.
