Some comments:
The Chuck Bednarik Award for College Defensive Player of the Year is being presented by Matt Millen. Worth the price of admission. Projected winner: Tyrann Mathieu. I'd tell you to buy a cool celebratory T Shirt but LSU, NCAA and the Local 27 Honey Badgers Union won't let you.
Off to Zazzle, I guess. I want the one on the right.
The Biletnikoff Award for Nation's Most Outstanding Receiver is being presented by Fred Biletnikoff, though a good argument could be made for letting Matt Millen helm this one. Or at least ride shotgun.
The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award for the Nation's Best National Quarterback will be presented by Jim McMahon. Fuckin' A.
The candidates are:
BYU Robert Griffin III, Baylor
Case Keenum, Houston
Andrew Luck, Stanford
I DON'T NEED YOU TO TELL ME THESE THREE GUYS ALL PLAYED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL IN TEXAS. I KNOW THAT ALREADY.
I figure they'll give this one to Luck. RG III takes the stiff arm.
John Chavis pictured here with an LSU defender, won the Broyles Award, for the nation's best assistant coach.
The other nominees included Arkansas Razorbacks offensive coordinator Garrick McGee, who's since taken over the head coach job for the UAB Blazers (Watson, holla!) and Wisconsin Badgers offensive coordinator Paul Chryst, who's been connected to the Illinois Fighting Illini and Kansas Jayhawks jobs. Greg Davis won this award once but is not currently connected to any jobs outside of Bellmont.
What else you got?
