An ESPN release stated that Texas Longhorns starting point guard Javan Felix had surgery on his left hip and is out indefinitely. Texas' trainer, Eric Fry, noted that the surgery occurred October 1. Texas starts its regular season in about a month, on November 9.

Felix is the Longhorns' leading returner in minutes per game (27.2), points per game (6.8), and assists per game (4.1). The sophomore was expected to be one of the leaders of Rick Barnes'--stop me if you've heard this before--very young ball club.

With Felix's status uncertain, the Longhorns will turn to fellow sophomore Demarcus Holland and/or incoming freshmen Isaiah Taylor and Kendal Yancy to helm the ship. Taylor is considered a true 1, while Holland and Yancy possess more of a combo guard game.

Hopefully Felix makes a speedy recovery.
