2015 Texas QB Recruit Zach Gentry Having An Impressive Senior Season

Tom Pennington

The 6-7 slinger is showing good athleticism to go along with his NFL frame.

While the competition level of New Mexico football has a distinctly El Pasoish feel, Gentry has taken big strides in his senior season and carried El Dorado to a 6-0 start.

Quality play by play there: "A couple plays later...LITERALLY!"

Here's what I said about Gentry as a junior. Though I'm suspicious of what a 6-7, 230 pound high school senior may grow into at the college level, it's hard not to be intrigued by an athlete who possesses NFL measurables and enough athletic ability to avoid statue designation. And that ball comes out pretty easily - as he gets older, he's going to have a gun. If accuracy and anticipation come along with it, we've got a winner.

I'm officially intrigued.
