Gentlemen, let's read the writing on the wall. At one point this year all 5 of the teams in the top 5 were from the East. In the case of the Pac12, there weren't any one loss or undefeated teams. This is, however, in part, due to a commitment to competition. The Pac12 and Big12 have 9 game schedules, giving fans the fair competition that they want rather than avoiding the coveted competition in an attempt to assure that teams get into the playoff.
I am proposing a separate Western Championship. Each year, the National Championship would be a game between the Western Champion and the Eastern Champion, just like in the NBA. Each half can decide its champion how it sees fit. Let's be real. The old money isn't ever going to play fair. Let's come to terms with it sooner rather than later. You know I'm right.
