Troy Omeire is a consensus 4 star who had been pledged to Texas A&M. Don’t worry for the Aggies. They have a fine class and their fanbase usually handles these inevitable flips with grace and understatement.

Omeire’s film shows a willing blocker, great hands, and a huge frame. He lacks elite speed, but creates separation with wingspan, size and route running. He adjusts well to the ball in the air, but isn’t necessarily a downfield 50/50 guy. I’d like to see Omeire’s senior film to gauge where he is now. Three games into his senior season, Omeire already has 22 catches for 360 yards and 4 touchdowns. Looking at his frame, I wonder if a future at Flex TE may be in the offing for the 6-3, 210 pounder.

Omeire’s flip to Texas likely closes the 2020 WR class and brings the number of Longhorns commitments 20. Texas recruiting rankings hold at 5th in the country. A top 8 class is all but assured, but a little more cherry picking to close will determine whether Texas can remain in the Top 5.
