Bill Byrne is cleaning sh*t up

Posted by HenryJames on September 3rd, 2008 under Football

From his weekly, uh, missive:

I was really impressed with the cleanliness of stadium. We work extremely hard in the off-season to power wash and clean Kyle Field, but we still have bat and bird residue reappear no matter how close to game-time we clean. I wish we could find a way to discourage the presence of these creatures, but the bats are a protected mammal in Texas.

Now get to work on cleaning that big pile of shit your football team left on the field.

  1. I think he forgot to capitalize Stadium. Like how it’s not the bonfire, it’s just Bonfire.

  2. Boy, he really teed that one up.

We also discovered our affiliate in Houston switched stations without notifying us which caused some difficulty in Aggies finding the broadcast.

  4. “but the bats are a protected mammal in Texas. ”

He himself is not. He probably ought to keep that in mind when he composes such an idiotic missive to a mob of angry fans.

So the bats leave Congress bridge to go shit on Kyle Field? Awesome.

Sherman was quoted at the media luncheon yesterdays as saying that “in some ways it’s better we lost that game”. Whether you are using that statement to arrive at another conclusion or not, those words must never be spoken into a microphone. It might rip a hole in the universe.

Our athletics programs are run by “Good Ags”, “down to earth” “country boys” who are “salt of the earth”.

This means essentially means that Bill Byrne can’t SPELL NCAA and Mike Sherman couldn’t motivate Jorvorksie Lane to just say he likes crepes.

  7. Orangeblood was just nominated for best Big 12 blog response of the entire football season.

  8. I am laughing out loud at Orangeblood’s reply. Very nice.

Art, no I didn’t. Much like Sergio Kindle, it’s all “alleged”. Sergio was texting (driving drunk and lying to the cops), and Chaisson was involved in a minor altercation (assaulting and kidnapping his ex-girlfriend).

It all gets lost in translation, does it not?

On the lighter side, we went to the game and really enjoyed the WYO fans. Most UT fans there said the hospitality reminded them of Lincoln. The cops were actually pretty cool after nearly arresting us for drinking in the stadium too.

Our Tigers survived quite a scare in week 2. Hopefully, they learned some valuable lessons, toughened up mentally, and gained confidence in the late come-back while securing their second win of the year. Meanwhile, our future opponents went 4-4 on the week as Oklahoma State tumbled from their lofty #5 national ranking losing at home

Given the train wreck of week 1, and considering the conditions played in, the only real let down of Saturday was the first possession when we didn’t pound it in.

That said, it seemed to me that the offensive line got better as the first half progressed. The were pushing a bad defense around

dick – you are absolutely clueless re the playing time available next year at DE. Muschamp – not Mack – will play the kid who makes the defense better. If that’s Eddie Jones giving up snaps to a freshman, then so be it. If you’re planning for the long-term, no kid getting

I wish I had the Mackovic era numbers for UT against the spread still. It was abysmal. It was not a coincidence that Las Vegas experienced a population boom in the 90s.

Jackson’s dad is a huge figure in Cowboys’ lore. They know the value of making a name in the football-crazed state of Texas. Jackson has the tools to become one of the all-time greats. He can’t do better than have Muschamp & Co. developing him at a school with all that Texas

It also appeals to defensive recruits that like to get drafted.

I would not want to visit with my Dad. Dad is coming to make sure his son does not get into any promiscuous problems with some hot Longhorn groupies. That is some great veteran wisdom from the elder Jeffcoat. Good job pops!

Notre Dame in ‘06 was kinda sorta one of those teams. 5-8 ATS. They blew out a stumbling Penn State early in the year (who subsequently improved) and then were overvalued the rest of the year, especially against USC and LSU (in the Sugar Bowl that they had no business being invited to). I made
