On Tuesday afternoon, the USA U18 team won gold at the FIBA Americas tournament by defeating Canada 113 - 79.

This win qualifies the U18 team for the FIBA Basketball World Cup in September.

Texas Longhorns commit Myles Turner contributed 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots in 16 minutes. Turner started all 5 games, averaging 7.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, & 3.6 blocks. Turner set the USA U18 blocks record with a total of 18 blocks in 5 tournament games. Between Turner, Cameron Ridley, Prince Ibeh, & Jonathan Holmes, Texas AD Steve Patterson might consider setting up plexiglass for the first 3 rows of the Erwin Center next season.
