As we know the NFL is the highest level of football in the US. Just about every NFL player was the very best player on his college team. But within all those players, there are the top guys. These top players are known as the "money" players. They are the most important players and usually make the most money. QB, WR, LT, DE, and CB are these "money" positions. So I decided to look at the "money" players for Texas. Here they are:
QB: Jerrod Heard (redshirt freshman)
WR: John Burt (freshman)/ Armanti Foreman (sophomore)
LT: Connor Williams (freshman)
DE: Bryce Cottrell (junior)/ Naashon Hughes (sophomore)
CB: Duke Thomas (senior)/ Holton Hill (freshman)
So there you have it. Our "money" players consist of three true freshmen, one redshirt freshman, two sophomores, one junior, and one lone senior. Only 25% of Texas's "money" players are upperclassmen so it shouldn't be shocking that this team's ability to execute is inconsistent to say the least.
