The 7th commitment of the 2018 Longhorn class is Lake Travis kicker Cameron Dicker.
There’s always an interesting philosophical question as to whether to offer a scholarship kicker or take on a number of walk-ons and award the winner of the competition a scholly. I can see it both ways - particularly if you’re convinced the commitment is a game changer.
Dicker was 20 of 25 in field goal kicking over two years at LT. He also handled punting duties, but I’m not sure if that’s part of his college future. Here’s his HUDL film.
Given a 2018 Longhorn class that’s going to be pressed for numbers, it’s clear that Herman takes special teams pretty seriously.
