that Spidey is the #2 story on every SB nation blog and isn’t moving down…this platform still beats the crap out of the old site.

As a self proclaimed “lurker” I guess you don’t care about the benefit of seeing comments immediately without refreshing, being able to directly reply to comments, see which comments are new and check them off, and “rec” comments green, but its a huge deal to the rest of us.

NTM now the BC crew is backed by a major company and some (I assume) are getting paid, which means they can spend more time writing quality pieces for free. I’m glad you want to spend $10 a month most of us don’t and won’t.

Also I love being able to flip between BON and BC on the same site NTM other blogs like EDSBS and the many many pro blogs on here. This platform is miles ahead of Rivals, ESPN, Bleacher Report, and others and some of which BTW advertise like crazy and even get me into trouble with those damn video adds that just pop up blaring a commercial or some BS while I’m supposed to be working.

There are trade-offs to any change and on balance, we thought the trade-offs in moving to the new format outweighed the negatives. Considerably, in fact. Just as commercials on television allow you to view (potentially) good programming for free, our advertisers allow us to bring you our stuff for free. I think as the platform evolves, we’ll able to do it in smarter, less busy ways.

When you see high quality advertisers migrating their dollars online, be pleased for what it means to your content future. Even if means you had to look at a Spider Man ad.

I think our priority needs to be the lines of scrimmage. The word amongst the recruiting circles is that a 5 star DT prospect is making the rounds on the camp circuit and he has been impressive.

Great size, speed and strength. He’s got a bit of an anger problem, but if he can control and maybe just aim his anger at the other team…he could be special.

This guy travels from county to county because he basically hasn’t found a place that feels like “home” (Cue for Sally Brown’s Cookies).

If we can get him in for a visit this summer, i think we have a shot at landing him. He does speak broken English, but enough to get by communicating with his teammates. I just hope nobody makes him mad while he is visiting.

If it bothers you enough to write a fan post, then you might want to consider downloading an ad-blocker yourself. I don’t know what browser you have, but there’s a pretty good app for Chrome.

That said, I’m all for them being able to monetize. SBNation, and for me BC and BON in particular, provide a unique presence on the internet. I would be much sadder to see any of them close up shop then I would be to see them with twice the ads they have now (I turned off the blocker to see what it was like).
